The Federation
The national structure.
MMAKF is the apex national body: state associations charter under the federation, district units under their state, and clubs, dojos and schools under their district. This is how the structure works and how to come under the banner.
Hierarchy
The affiliation ladder.

National Federation
MMAKF — the apex body. Syllabus, gradings, national calendar, WKF pathway and the register of all affiliated units.

State Associations
One chartered unit per state. Conducts state championships, sanctions district units, and maintains the state register of members.

District Associations
Affiliate through their state association. Run district championships, gradings up to brown belt, and local officials development.

Clubs, Dojos & Schools
Charter under their district (or directly under the hombu where no unit exists yet). Deliver training and present candidates for grading.

Membership
Four ways in.
Student Membership
Individual enrolment at the hombu dojo, an affiliated centre or the Online University. Grading record maintained by the federation.
Dojo Affiliation
Existing clubs adopt the MMAKF syllabus and grading authority under an annual charter, keeping their own identity.
School Programs
Schools host structured MMAKF batches on campus — the model that reached 130+ schools at its peak.
Athlete Registration
Competitive members are registered under WKF SportsID and Sportdata for national and international ranking.
Dojo Charter
How a dojo affiliates.
Affiliation places your club under the technical authority of the federation — your students grade on the MMAKF syllabus, your instructors join the faculty development pathway, and your athletes compete under the federation banner.
Requirements
- A lead instructor holding II Dan or above (or an MMAKF-appointed sensei)
- Safe training premises meeting federation facility standards
- Full adoption of the MMAKF Shotokan syllabus and code of conduct
- Annual charter renewal and grading records submitted to the hombu

Apply
Write to admin@mmakf.in with your club profile, instructor credentials and premises details.

Technical review
A senior sensei visits (or reviews by video) — instructors demonstrate the syllabus, premises are inspected.

Provisional charter
One probationary year under a mentor sensei. Your first joint grading is held with hombu examiners.

Full affiliation
Charter granted. Your dojo appears in the federation register and gains grading and tournament rights.
Officials
Referee & coach certification.
The federation trains and certifies its own officials — every tournament runs on MMAKF-certified judges, referees and coaches.
Judge (Table Official)
From 1st Kyu
Scorekeeping, timing and kata judging fundamentals. Certified over one seminar plus two supervised tournaments.
Kumite Referee
From I Dan
Match control, WKF kumite rules, safety protocol. Annual re-certification at the federation referee seminar.
Certified Coach
From II Dan
Athlete development, competition strategy and WKF coach-accreditation pathway for national events.
